What is "41"?Each skier has the option of a minimum of 4 passes, and 1 fall where the boat returns to pick the skier up to continue to complete the minimum of 4 passes.
This concept is intended to make tournaments friendlier for more people. Everyone will be scored within the AWSA rules “C” class, novice or GrassRoots; however you enter. Here is how the “41” option works... Assuming you know the AWSA rules for slalom, the scenarios below will vary under the different classifications: C, novice or Grassroots. 1. Skier makes 4 buoys on their first pass… the boat sets them down at the end of the lake as if they completed the pass… the skier will then continue and make the next two passes… the skier falls on the forth pass which completes their turn for that round. 2. Skier makes 5 buoys on their first pass… the boat sets them down at the end of the lake as if they completed the pass… skier continues and falls on their second pass, the boat will return to pick them up for their third pass…skier falls on their third pass... If the skier is registered as Class C, their turn will be over. Novice and Grassroots will continue to complete all 4 passes, regardless of falls. 3. Skier completes their first and second passes (being set down after each pass)... the skier makes 5 buoys in the third pass… Skier completes their fourth pass… the skier is done for that round. |
